Rock Steady, like Marbles, combines sound therapeutic advice with Forney’s own life experience. Now she is broadening her discussion of mental health with a self-help book for people grappling with mood disorders (and those who care about them), Rock Steady: Brilliant Advice from My Bipolar Life (Fantagraphics Books), scheduled for release in early May 2018 to coincide with Mental Health Awareness month. She first documented that experience in Marbles. For the past 20 years, she has managed her condition through treatment, medication and self-care while remaining a creative dynamo. Forney was diagnosed as bipolar just before her 30th birthday in 1998. ![]()
